Our weather the last few weeks has been a little touch and go at best, not sure my feet aren’t starting to web with all this rain we’ve been having. But we had a great day for 5 stand yesterday, I understand some crazy trap shooters even got together on top of the hill.
ALL EVENTS ARE WEATHER PERMITTING
Tuesday 2/11 *Practice on the hill. Skeet and trap ranges open by 4:30p
Thursday 2/13 *Cherokee monthly meeting was resheduled for this thursday . (hopefully the rain doesnt get us again)
Friday 2/14 *Valentines Day… Arts old Codgers will be on the hill . The start shooting trap and skeet around 9:30 until mid day. If your off they would love to have you come and play.
Saturday 2/15 *Cherokee will host the Trophy Shoot sign ups are 9a till 10:30a
Saturday 2/15 * Remember ATA big 50 has been cancelled this week.
Just a couple notes for later in the month.We have an opportunity for some one to get involved with 5 stand. Bobby Marshall who has been the five stand guy for some time is slowly backing off due to other commitments. Rodney Meade is taken over the bulk of operations. He is looking for someone that wants to get more involved at Cherokee. This would require arriving early to help set up, running the release or scoring, and helping tear down. If this is something you would enjoy getting involved in please contact Rodney or myself.
Keys for the shotgun facilities will be passed out on 2/23 the last Sunday in Feb. Joe will be out around noon. I’m sure if the weather is decent someone will break out a shotgun and shoot a few rounds
2/29 Yes this is leap year and this is a 5th saturday. Joe has organized a doubles trap marathon with 200 doubles targets. These can be registered with the ata or not , your choice.We also want to plan a work day after the weather breaks this spring. Keep your eyes open for things that need to be done and we will try to get them on a punch list. One of things we are going to try for is rebuilding the old skeet shelter into a storage building
