We had a beautiful day for 5 stand yesterday. Good crowd and got in a lot of shooting. Rodney and Bobby are running a first rate five stand. If you haven’t shot it in a while , you owe it to yourself to come check it out.

This is a big week for shotgun at Cherokee . We have some very active members that really want to see Cherokee as one of the top shotgun clubs in the region, this will also help the rest of the club with rifle and pistol as well. They are putting in a lot of time and effort to make this happen. We have the facilities , our members are as friendly and welcoming as any club in the area. This is what will make our club stand out. There are so many of our membership that put in time, effort, and even capitol. Many aren’t seen or recognized , but they are appreciated. We have people hauling targets, cleaning and doing upkeep on machines, organizing and planning events , preparing meals,  and the list goes on and on.

This week starts a new program with shotgun events. We have new trap machines that are throwing some of the best targets in East Tennessee, we have our trap fields certified for registering ATA targets and will be holding our first (in many years) ATA big 50 event. 

Tuesday 11/12  *Open practice on the hill. Trap and Skeet fields will be open by 4:30p 

Friday 11/15 *Arts old Codgers will Take the hill . Trap and Skeet ranges open by 9:30a they will shoot till around mid day. This is a great time to get in a few rounds if your off on Friday mornings.

Saturday 11/16 *Cherokee will host our monthly tournament . You can shoot trap and or skeet. This week we will have a big Fish Fry for lunch. Sign ups are from 9-10:30a. *Big 50 ATA shoot will start right after the Trophy Shoot is concluded . It will be 50 singles, 50 handicap, and 25 pairs of doubles. These will be registered targets so you will need to be a member of ATA . Joe Trujillo will be at the trophy shoot at 9 a and he can sign you up for the ATA shoot and also renew or sign up new members for the ATA. Cost of ATA membership is 20.00 per year. If you are going to shoot the ATA event and not shoot the trophy shoot please come for lunch.
