Fall is upon us. We are going to do another Family Fun Night at Cherokee this week. It will be on Friday evening, and we will get started about 5p up on the hill. Right now the weather looks cooperative , if this changes I will send another email later in the week. This year we are going to throw off a big pot of chili. Bob has some special knock your socks of cornbread he is going to bring. We will have marshmallows and hopefully we can get our resident firebug Art to build a little fire for the ladies. Bring lots of shells we will have the ranges open for business. I know this email reaches some people that have an interest in Cherokee that aren’t members or who haven’t joined yet….please feel free to attend and fellowship with us. You probably want to bring a folding chair hopefully we will run short of seating.
I want to give kudos to a youth shooter, Ashland Forester better known as Half. Half shoots primarily at Wilderness Road. She has worked very hard to be a serious skeet and trap shooter. In my opinion she is arguably the best Female shotgunner her age in the state and probably beyond right now. The last two Trophy shoots Half won high gun overall shooting against everyone , she had a 97 of 100 at the wilderness shoot and a 98 of 100 at the Cherokee shoot. Congrats Half…Keep it up. We will ALL have to get used to being stomped by a 14 year old girl.
Tuesday 10/22 *Open practice on the hill. Ranges open by 4:30 p
Friday 10/25 *Arts old Codgers will take the hill by 9:00 and shoot till mid day (starts getting into their naptime if they stay too late)
Friday 10/25 *FAMILY FUN NIGHT AT CHEROKEE. PLEASE BRING YOUR SPOUSES , THEY CAN SEE WHERE YOU SPEND YOUR TIME. WE WILL HAVE A MEAL . WE WILL TRY TO GET STARTED BY 5P UP ON THE HILL AT THE PAVILLION. YOU DONT HAVE TO BE A SHOTGUNNER BUT IF YOU ARE BRING PLENTY OF SHELLS. WE WILL HAVE THE TRAP AND SKEET FIELDS OPEN AND THERE MAY EVEN BE A MAD COW OR TWO BREAK OUT. BRING A FOLDING CHAIR. WE WILL HAVE DRINKS AND FOOD,IF YOU LIKE SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR DRINKS THROW THEM IN …….NO ALCOHOL.
Saturday 10/26 *4th Saturday Five Stand. Ranges will be up by 9a and we will shoot till everyone has had enough (usually around 3ish) Bring lots of shells and get on a squad to shoot
