Cherokee Rod and Gun Club invites all area young people, ages 8 years to 18 years, to participate in our Four Position Precision Air Rifle and Small Bore Program.  We meet the second and fourth Sunday of every month from 2:00 PM until 4:30 PM.

We shoot air rifles inside during cold weather, typically December, January, February and March and small bore rifles on the lower range from April through November.  The Air Rifle program utilizes an indoor 10 meter and under target program for precision bench, prone, kneeling, sitting and standing positions.

The small bore program is held outdoors and teaches precision marksmanship at 50 feet, 50 yards, 50 meters, 100 yards and 100 meters target program for bench, prone, kneeling, sitting and standing positions.

Our program is presented by NRA Certified Instructors and Coaches and we work from the NRA Rifle Classification program for four position shooting.

This program emphasizes safety, knowledge, skills and attitude and helps young people learn safe, responsible firearms handling in a positive and safe environment.

This program is open to all area youth at no charge to the participant.  Parents are encouraged to observe, help and participate to the extent of their abggilities.
